National Honor Society
The Connection School is an affiliate member of The National Honor Society (NHS).
The National Honor Society (NHS) is the nation’s premier organization established to recognize outstanding high school students. More than just an honor roll, NHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, and character. These characteristics have been associated with membership in the organization since its beginning in 1921.
Four main purposes have guided chapters of NHS from the beginning: to create enthusiasm for scholarship; to stimulate a desire to render service; to promote leadership; and to develop character in the students of secondary schools. These purposes also translate into the criteria used for membership selection in each local chapter.
Chapter membership not only recognizes students for their accomplishments, but challenges them to develop further through active involvement in school activities and community service.

The mission of The Connection School of Houston Student Council is to serve the students, the school, and the greater Cypress community.
In order to do so, the Student Council is to make beneficial decisions from the point of view of the students, to give back to the community, school and peers, and to provide a link between them.
Finally, all members of the Student Council are to advocate the vision and concerns of the student body to school administration and town government, while growing as leaders and acting as role models for their peers.
NASC promotes and provides leadership development opportunities to prepare and empower student leaders to serve their schools and communities.
